Clorox's founders first created sodium hypochlorite bleach using brine from the nearby salt ponds of San Francisco Bay. They began selling an industrial-strength product to laundries, breweries, walnut processing sheds and municipal water companies. In 1914, they reformulated the product for household use and named it Clorox® bleach. |
